Monday Night Open Division Week 7 Recap – Indoor Soccer Toronto, Scarborough, Markham

If you’re an indoor soccer player in Toronto, Scarborough, Markham, North York, East York, or Pickering searching for high-level league action, Week 7 of the Monday Night Open Division delivered everything you’d want—goals, standout individual performances, and a tightening race at the top of the table. With playoff spots on the horizon, every match is starting to carry a little more weight, and the latest results have added new layers to an already compelling season.

Standings Race Tightens at the Top

The scoreboard tells part of the story, but the numbers behind it reveal just how competitive this division has become. NTSC remains at the summit with 16 points, still unbeaten through six matches, but the gap is anything but comfortable. Seawaves and East York United are right there on 15 points, each making strong cases to challenge for first place as the season progresses.

East York United’s Offensive Showcase

East York United delivered the most eye-catching result of the week with a commanding 7–0 victory over FC Kudas. The performance was built on a balanced attacking effort, with P. Petri, N. Zagar, and Y. Ghaly each recording braces, while M. Bradley Ali added another to round out the scoring. With 36 goals for in seven matches, East York now leads the league offensively, and their ability to distribute scoring responsibility across multiple players makes them especially difficult to contain.

For FC Kudas, the result doesn’t fully reflect the effort they’ve shown throughout the season. Sitting mid-table with 9 points, they’ve demonstrated the ability to compete, and this match presents an opportunity to regroup and refocus. Their season still holds plenty of potential, especially if they can tighten things defensively moving forward.

Seawaves Continue Strong Form

Seawaves matched East York’s seven-goal output with a 7–2 win over Southwest Sixers, continuing their impressive run. S. Sribalakrishnan led the way with a hat trick, while K. Selvanathan added two more. Contributions from V. Mamugan and C. Sharvanathan capped off another high-scoring night. With 33 goals scored and a league-best +17 goal differential, Seawaves are combining attacking efficiency with defensive stability—an effective formula that keeps them firmly in the title conversation.

Southwest Sixers, currently on 3 points, found the net through B. Martinez and D. Stamatopulos. While results have been difficult to come by, moments like these highlight the team’s capability to create chances. As the season continues, building on these positives could help them close the gap in future matches.

NTSC Holds the Top Spot

At the top of the standings, NTSC’s 0–0 draw against Goofingtons FC may seem quiet compared to the week’s other scorelines, but it carries its own significance. NTSC’s defensive record continues to stand out, conceding just 16 goals in six matches while maintaining their unbeaten status. Their ability to secure points even on lower-scoring nights reflects consistency that often defines top teams.

Goofingtons FC, with 4 points, earned a valuable result against the league leaders. Holding the top-ranked team scoreless is no small feat and could serve as a confidence boost as they look to climb the standings.

Brill FC Shows Progress

Another closely contested match saw Brill FC and Markham Blizzard finish level at 1–1. I. Javed opened the scoring for Markham Blizard up until the last 10 minutes of the 2nd half when J. Kretzschman  equalized with a laser of a shot  that had  both teams in shock. After that, Brill FC’s goalie put it in overdrive as was instrumental in the team maintaining that important point.  See below at the amazing save that was made to protect that tie. to For Brill FC, still searching for their first  win of the season, this result represents progress and resilience.

Markham Blizzard, now on 7 points, continue to hover just outside the upper tier of the standings. Their +2 goal differential suggests a team capable of competing in tight matches.

Looking Ahead

Shurjo United FC, sitting in fourth place with 12 points, didn’t feature in this week’s results but remain well-positioned. The race for positioning is shaping up to be one of fine margins, with multiple teams still within reach of playoff positioning.

Week 7 reinforced one thing above all: this league continues to deliver quality indoor soccer across the GTA. Whether you’re following from Toronto, Scarborough, Markham, North York, East York, or Pickering, there’s plenty more to come.
