⚽️ Shifting Gears in Week 4: Goals, Grit, and Grown-Up Performances Across All Divisions!
By the Toronto Markham S.C. Blog Desk – June 20
The fourth week of action has wrapped up and if you’re just tuning in, you’ve missed a whirlwind of drama, comebacks, and scoreboard pyrotechnics. With some teams staking early claims to division supremacy and others still finding their rhythm, it’s safe to say this season is heating up faster than a turf pitch in July.
Let’s lace up and take a tour across all four divisions—because this weekend had it all: perfect records extended, first wins celebrated, and margins tightened in pursuit of playoff dreams.
🔥 Division A: S.C.S.C. Reign Continues, Slip City Slides Into Second
The juggernaut that is S.C.S.C. keeps rolling, posting a thundering 8-2 win over Gullit Gang FC. P. Niles netted four goals, making it look almost effortless. Khedive Kelse and M. Phillips chipped in with two apiece, keeping S.C.S.C. firmly at the top with a perfect 3-0 record and an intimidating +11 goal differential.
Just below them, Slip City edged Brexit FC 1-0 in a tightly contested match, thanks to M. Stanley’s clutch finish. They remain unbeaten and hold second place on goal differential, with 8 goals for and just 3 against—defensive discipline being their calling card so far.
DOC Athletics proved they’re in it for the long haul with a statement 7-0 win over Top Boys FC. K. Baldeo’s brace and a complete team performance have pushed them to third place with the division’s second-highest goal tally.
Meanwhile, Out of Retirement FC turned back the clock and possibly a few defenders with a 7-0 showcase against Stugatz FC, whose search for that elusive first point continues. Hats off to T. Selven and C. Philimon for their dual braces in that one.
💥 Division B1 West: Rafiki Taka and Wonder Uncs FC Keep the Party Going
What a race it’s becoming in the B1 West! Rafiki Taka maintained their place at the top with a 4-1 win over Guanacos FC, led by A. Mohamed and a composed performance across the pitch. Three games in and still unbeaten, Rafiki Taka now boast a +6 goal differential and control the leaderboard.
Wonder Uncs FC weren’t about to let them have all the fun. With a strong 5-3 win over AC Morts, they climbed to second and now trail Rafiki by just one point. S. Saleem and U. Manzoor delivered when it mattered most, giving their fans a reason to dream big.
Slime FC also put in a complete performance with a 3-0 win over Scarborough FC, finding their groove just in time. J. Reider, D. Crawford, and R. Libaque all found the net in a balanced display of football.
Elsewhere, Azkals FC and We Dem Boys locked horns in a spirited 3-3 draw, and Scarborough, despite the setback, remains mid-table with potential to bounce back quickly.
🧨 Division B1 East: La Birk FC Sets the Tone, But Alianza Is Breathing Down Their Neck
La Birk FC remains the toast of the B1 East, earning their third straight win—this time a 4-2 victory over a resilient Raid FC side. Bilal, A. Abdulatif, and F. Achakzai each contributed to the win, keeping their goal differential healthy at +11. That’s 15 goals scored in just 3 matches—fireworks!
But don’t sleep on Alianza. They kept pace with a thrilling 4-3 win over Pique Blinders, with Z. Abideen’s double sealing the deal. They sit just behind La Birk on differential, and this brewing rivalry is one to watch.
Durham United impressed once again, posting an 8-3 win over Bafana with A. Byk and J. Mbakwe in fine form. With 11 goals already this season, they’re knocking loudly on the top two’s door.
Unknown FC picked up a tight 3-2 win against FC Kudas, a game where M. Melague’s double was the difference maker. Meanwhile, Pique Blinders and FC Kudas remain firmly in the mix and capable of disrupting the table.
🚀 Division B2: Markham United Marching Strong
It’s a clean sweep for Markham United, who notched another W, this time a 2-1 win over Mad Lads FC. S. Nyapathi and A. Navaneethan were instrumental in the result, and Markham now sit atop Division B2 with 3 wins and a tidy +7 goal difference.
Metro FC followed suit with a 2-1 win of their own over Brill FC, staying close in second. Their organized defense and clinical finishing continue to serve them well.
7 XI FC joined the party in third after a strong 3-0 showing against Toronto Phoenix FC, whose search for a first point continues. M. Siddiqui and M. Omar Baig looked sharp, keeping the goals flowing.
Black Aces pulled off a thrilling 3-2 win over Indy FC, with a late strike proving the difference in what was one of the week’s most entertaining fixtures.
